Barton, William (b. ABT 1605, d. early 1680s)

Note: William Barton was in Maryland by 1654 and settled in St. Mary's County. He may have moved to Charles County in the 1660's.

He served in the lower house of the legislature in 1661 and served as a justice of the local court from1555 to 1668. He was rewarded for his loyalty by Lord Baltimore in 1656, probably for his services at the Battle of the Severn.

At hias death he held at lweast 600 acres of land.
