Warner, Augustine (b. 3 JUN 1642, d. 19 JUN 1681)
Note: Augustine Warner was educated at the Merchant Taylor's School in London and at Cambridge. Upon his return to Virginia he was elected to the House of Burgesses, in 1666, and ten years later was elected Speaker of the House. The following year, the year that Bacon's rebellion broke out, he was named to the Governor's Council. On his father's death he inherited the vast Warner properties in Virginia and lived the rest of his short life at Warner Hall.

Augustine Warner, Jr., and Mildred Reade are the great grandparents of President George Washington. They are also the 8th great grandparents of Queen Elizabeth II.

Reade, George (b. 25 OCT 1608, d. BEF 21 NOV 1674)
Note: George Reade came to Virginia in 1637, with Sir John Harvey, newly appointed governor. On Aug. 27, 1640, he was appointed by the king as secretary of the colony "in the absence of Richard Kemp who has lately arrived in England."

Reade served as clerk of the Governor's Council in 1648 and was a member of the House of Burgesses in 1649, representing James City, and in 1656, representing York. He was appointed to the Governor's Council in 1658 and served in that body until his death.

In his will he left 850 acres in York County to his wife for her life, along with much other property.
