Barne, George (b. )

Note: George Barne lived in London, where he was a haberdasher. At the turn of the 16th century, that meant much more than it does today. For one thing, it meant he was a member of the Haberdasher's Guild, one of the Guilds whose members essentially ran the City of London.

Thus George Barne would have been very much a member of London's ruling elite. He is, however, as far back as the Barne's line has so far been traced.
