Townley, Lawrence (b. , d. 1565/66)
Note: Lawrence Towneley lived at Barnside, Colne, Lancashire, and served as bailiff of that town. His family had leased the manor of Barnside from the Priory of Pontefract, but when the monasteries were dissolved by Henry VIII, he bought it in 1545.

He built the Towneley chapel in Colne Church and gave the font, which is inscribed with his arms and the Initials LT.
