Booth, John (b. probably bef 1359, d. MAR 1422)
Note: John Booth probably obtained his inheritance by 1380. He had good connections at court and was scheduled to accompany John of gaunt to Spain and Portugal, but for some unknown reason did not go. In 1398 Richard II awarded him a pension of ten marks a year, but he quickly switched his allegiance to Henry IV when the latter usurped the throne the following year.

He was a commissioner of array for Lancashire in 1402 and 1405 and commissioner "to prevent the spread of treasonous rumors" in May 1402. He was receiver of the Duchy of Lancaster for lands in Lancashire, Cheshire, and Bowland--a patronage plum--from 1405 until 1413, and was Justice of the peace for Lancashire from 1411 until his death.

He served as knight of the shire in the parliaments of 1411 and 1420.
